Starlight's Summer Home
Starlight Amphitheatre is an outdoor summer playhouse that sits on the bank of the Middlefork of the Payette River. The theatre seats 300 patrons in stadium-style seating where the designed elevation creates a perfect view from every seat. Remember, mountain air can be cool in the evening- bring jackets and blankets, just in case.

Starlight Mountain Theatre Loses The Star - Can You Help?
Dear Patrons,
We want to thank you for your continued support of Starlight, because of this support in 2009 we had our second best summer season ever. Our autumn/winter 2009 shows have been playing to sold out audiences. Here at Starlight, we continue to be committed to bringing you and your family quality entertainment at an affordable price. Your prolonged support helps us to achieve this goal.
For the past three years we have been offering the majority of our fall, winter and Youth Educational productions at The Star Theatre in Boise. This small black box theatre has been a wonderful home for our productions and thousands of Starlight fans have seen such shows as The Sound of Music, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Wonderful Town, Little Shop of Horrors, Gifts of the Magi, Best Christmas Pageant Ever and White Christmas, and Youth productions of Disney's 101 Dalmatians and Disney's Jungle Book. It has been a great space but unfortunately to keep it open the city of Boise is requiring us to do an estimated $80,000 of upgrades. This is not economically possible for our small theatre company so we need your help in the following ways.
First, we have to be out of The Star by the middle of January, so we need a large space that we can complete the rehearsal process for our up coming production of the hit show, Footloose that will play at the Nampa Civic Center and is already in rehearsal.
Second, and most important, we need a new home for our winter productions. The space has to be large enough to do productions in and have handicap bathrooms. We do pay rent at The Star--but at a much reduced rate which would have to be the case in a new space.
Third, we need a large temporary space or garage, in which we could build the sets for Footloose. We would only need this space for about 3-4 weeks.
Fourth, we immediately need storage space for all of our sets, props, costumes, etc. These items are currently at The Star. Because of the snow in Garden Valley we cannot get into our storage buildings there, Starlight needs to store a lot of theatre items until we can move it up the mountain later this spring. As always, cost is important to our small nonprofit theatre company.
If you or anyone you know can help us with any of these please call and talk to us at 462-5523 or email us at starlighttheatre@msn.com. Once again we thank you for your continued support of Starlight and hope to serve you and your family for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Your Starlight Team
(Ed & Jan Davis, Dugan Jackman, Angie Anderson and the Board of Directors)
